Exhibition runs from March 29 - April 30, 2025

The Wall of Women was curated to celebrate International Women’s Day and the female artists in L’Enfant Gallery’s collection. During the curation process, it became apparent how few women artists were represented and how many of the female portraits were naked. The wall became a powerful statement on the underrepresentation of women in the art world.

For Women’ History Month 2025, we brought the Wall of Woman into the public gallery space for all to see. We have invited a panel of artists, thinkers, and friends to sit in front of the art and discuss their work and the role of art as resistance.

The panel discussion will include Dr. Emerald Christopher, a Professor from Georgetown University; Dr. Natalia Kazaryan, a concert pianist and Assistant Professor of Piano from Howard University; Kelly Richman-Abdou an art historian, doctoral candidate and museum educator at The Philips Collection; Dr. Esha Sadr-Eshkevari, a multidisciplinary artist; TANSY an international burlesque star in New York City...

Opening night Friday Jan 24, 2025, 5-9pm, till Sunday March 23rd 2025

Together with the Dawley family, we have brought together 40 paintings and prints to honour Joseph Dawley's career.

From his art student days at SMU to his success in Dallas as a master of realism depicting the 'wild west'; to his later works as a great American impressionist, developed as a reaction against early onset Parkinson's disease.

"Exhibition catalogue and price list is available prior to the event."

The party invitation read as follows:

Think of Dia de los Muertos where masks served to conceal the soul and appearance to transform the wearer into a mystical state to communicate with the supernatural.

Think of the Carnevale di Venezia pre 1797 when they thought covering one's face in public was a response to one of the most rigid class hierarchies in European history; you can be who ever you want to be when no one knows who you are.

Think of the 1926 novella Rhapsody: A Dream Novel who remind us:

"life and passion, beauty and adventure, are all around us. Disregard them and life is not worth living."
