Anne Lane
Artist Anne-Allyn Lane has always connected her work to the places where she has established studios. After studying philosophy at Maynooth College in Ireland, she set up a studio in New Mexico, then returned to Washington, D.C., traveling to London, Italy, France, and exhibiting in South Beach, Florida. In 2000, she was sponsored by L’Enfant Gallery in Georgetown, which led to projects in Puerto Rico, South Hampton, New York, and rural Virginia. Known for her figurative, narrative, and dramatic style, Lane’s work, including the masterwork Amazonian Woman, has been exhibited globally, from museums to public spaces. A self-taught artist from the Lane family of Washington, D.C., her paintings, noted for brilliant portraits and bold impasto techniques, are displayed worldwide.
